A website redesign improved search engine visibility and supported international growth
CASE: Website redesign for an automation company
In this project, the website of an automation company was redesigned. The goal of the project was to support the company’s international growth and improve its search engine visibility. The new website makes the company’s expertise more visible and also improves its presence in Google search results.
Initial situation
The automation company previously had a small-scale WordPress website, but as the business expanded toward international markets, there was a need for a website that presents the company’s services more comprehensively and builds an image of an experienced industry expert.
The company also wanted to clarify its customer communications. There was previously no clearly defined vision, values, or principles for responsible operations.
In addition, the website was not visible in search engines for several strategically important keywords.
Project goal
The goal of the project was to build a modern and clear website that primarily serves international clients, supports recruitment, and strengthens the company’s expert image.
At the same time, the aim was to improve search engine visibility and clarify the company’s communications and sustainability messaging.
What was done
At the beginning of the project, a competitor analysis was conducted to examine websites of industry players and identify ways for the client company to stand out.
Based on this, the site structure was designed and key information about the company’s services was consolidated. The company’s vision and values were also defined, along with its principles for responsible operations.
Comprehensive service descriptions were written for the website, highlighting the company’s deep expertise, broad service offering, and high-quality, customer-oriented approach.
The visual design was implemented in a cost-efficient way by combining high-quality stock photography with the company’s own images. In addition, simple graphic elements were designed to support the overall visual identity.
The visual style was intentionally kept minimalistic so that the focus remains on the content. Particular attention was paid to clarity and readability in text layout.
The website was built using the WordPress content management system with a lightweight, mobile-friendly theme that was customized through coding to match the company’s visual identity. Necessary functionalities were implemented using plugins.
Basic search engine optimization was carried out, along with technical optimizations to improve site speed and performance.
The website was implemented in both Finnish and English.
RESULTS

- The number of website visitors increased by over 50% in a short period of time.
- The website achieved excellent scores in Google PageSpeed Insights (80–100/100) and a strong result of 88/100 in the Pingdom performance test, both measuring site efficiency and user experience.
- The website’s search engine rankings improved significantly.
- For several strategically important keywords, the website reached the top 10 positions in Google search results.
PROJECT LESSON

Good search engine rankings do not require complex technology or a flashy visual design. What matters is a clear structure, carefully planned content, and a well-functioning technical implementation.
