CASE: Visual identity design and production of materials for an automation company
In this project, the visual identity and key marketing and communication materials of an automation company were renewed. The goal was to build a cohesive and credible brand that supports the company’s international growth and makes everyday marketing and communications easier to manage.
Initial situation
The company operating in the automation industry had renewed its visual identity approximately five years earlier, but it reflected a time when the company mainly operated as a local Finnish business.
As the company expanded into international markets, a new visual identity was needed to support its expert image and communicate its expertise in a credible way.
The company also lacked a consistent approach to marketing and communications: there were no clear slogans, unified presentation materials, or a comprehensive image bank in place.
Project goal
The goal of the project was to create a modern and cohesive visual identity and develop practical tools that would make the company’s marketing and communications consistent and easy to implement in different situations.
What was done
At the beginning of the project, the company’s colour palette and typography were renewed. The colour palette was modernised to better suit different use cases.
Next, graphic elements such as icons and illustrations were designed for use across various materials.
The company logo was lightly updated, and different versions were created for different applications.
During the project, the company’s key messages were also defined, and company presentation texts were written for various purposes.
An image bank was created by combining the company’s own photographs with carefully selected stock images.
The project also included the renewal of key marketing and communication materials, such as company presentations, brochures, trade fair materials, and Office document templates.
Finally, clear guidelines for using the materials were prepared for the staff, and the entire package was compiled into the company intranet.
